About Us

Joann Benzinger and Kymberlea Easter met while forming a Co-Op art gallery in North Greenville County and quickly became friends. They worked on various projects together and learned that they were good at problem solving together. The sharing of creative ideas with a like-minded artist was exhilarating.

Both artists live in the Travelers Rest area and wanted an art home close to the little town they love. The location for the Wild Hare Gallery suddenly opened up and they knew they had to take the chance. The idea of building something they loved with the ability to help their fellow artists was a dream come true.

Kym and Joann enlisted the time and talents of friends and family and had the Wild Hare Gallery up and running in a month’s time. New gallery lights, a professional hanging system and many coats of paint turned their small space into a charming new art gallery.

Joann’s love for photography, her ability to capture the elusive excitement to be found in the mundane, her eye for beauty and talent for creating new works from her beautiful photos is unlimited. She does her own printing on a variety of surfaces and is currently working on abstract painting over her photographs. Joann has co-authored three children’s books and is working on a fourth. She offers private lessons in photography, iPhonography, and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as teaches photography classes at the Greenville Center For Creative Arts in the West End and the Spartanburg Museum of Art. Joann is also a regular demonstrating artist in the Art Lab at Artisphere in downtown Greenville.

Kym Easter, an award winning artist, has been in the Art Business most of her life, painting murals, designing furniture and working with decorators for custom work. She loves to paint animals and nature scenes in oils and acrylics. Her abstract paintings in layers and layers of art resin are fascinating and very popular.

Both teach classes at the Wild Hare Gallery and other locations.

Wild Hare Gallery is a locally owned boutique gallery in Travelers Rest, SC. Our goal is to provide a platform for established and emerging area artists to display, sell and promote their work while strengthening the bond between the arts, community and businesses in Travelers Rest.
