Jessica Zirkle

Artist Bio

Jessica developed her passion for art from her mother and father. Born in Troy, Ohio, she moved to Georgia and has been a resident ever since. She studied under local artists growing up. After high school, she further pursued her passion at Anderson University. She found her calling was doing portraits and realism with oils and acrylics. Jessica went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Painting and Drawing. After college, she joined the local artist’s guild and even won a few awards in shows they held.

Artist Statement

My work is about as eclectic as I am. I don’t have one specific thing that inspires me to create; there are many. Taking a walk with my younger brothers, a bad day at work, a random book or movie; the list goes on. However, in all my works, I focus on both intense emotions as well as the use of intense colors. My hope is that my paintings, which show my strongest emotions, let those who might be feeling the same way know that they are not alone. In addition, I use super-saturated colors to add a touch of surreal to the real.
