Judy Bachmann
Artist Bio
Judy illustrated her first children’s book on notebook paper when she was 5. The Book of Manners was a huge hit with her family, especially her parents. Since then, she has carried a love of illustration, pattern and color throughout life.
Born and raised in the South, Judy eventually earned her BFA from UNC Charlotte. She sold artwork at festivals, had a feature in Country Living Magazine and illustrated a book, God is Here. After meeting her husband, she moved to Colorado where she lived in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and raised her girls. 22 years later the Bachmanns moved to the Greenville area. She is very happy to call South Carolina home.
Her children are grown now and a new chapter is beginning. Every morning she wakes up excited to spend more time painting and creating illustrations that bring light, levity and a smile to those who see them.
The artwork drawn when she was little was pencils and crayons. Today, she primarily works with acrylic, ink and colored pencil on canvas and paper. Her inspiration comes from what is growing in her garden and natural surroundings.
Judy believes the world is full of whimsy and color. Look for it!
