Illustration is storytelling art. This workshop will follow through the principles that make for strong, effective artwork that supports a narrative. Lessons will focus on the importance of characters, composition, line, color, sequential applications, even touching on the business of freelance illustration.

Tim Davis is a professional illustrator and published author. At last count, he's the most prolific Hidden Picturesillustrator in Highlights magazine’s history.
Tim has written and illustrated eleven children’s books including: the Mice of the Herringbone series (5 books). The Island Rule (2019) is a spin-off from the Mice series. In 2020, Tim reprinted one of his short stories, Mort and the Sour Scheme into book form, and just released the final sequel to complete the trilogy.
Tim has regularly taught writing and illustration at Greenville Tech, Greenville Center for Creative Arts, and in elementary schools through the SmartARTS program in Greenville County and is available for school visits and artist-in-residencies.
