Jim Simon
Artist Bio/Statement
Anative of Michigan, and at the age of 7 my aunt, an art teacher, went on trips to Lake Michigan with paint and paper in hand and said "Paint what you see." and I am still trying to do that.
Years later my family moved from Michigan to Manhasset L.I, New York, Although I am a self taught artist I attended Abbey Art Institute for 2years in N.Y. City.
Working in oils for 10-11 years, I discovered acrylics andfound they had the same workable texture. While living in Florida I joined a sculpting class. After 1 week the instructor said, "Stick to painting." I took his advice. I think you learn somthing everytime you pick up a brush.
